More than eighty percent of patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) could be deficient in vitamin D, according to a new study out of the University of Sheffield. Study author Dr. Bernard Corfe says that IBS is "a poorly understood condition which impacts severely on the life of sufferers… our data suggests that they may benefit from supplementation of vitamin D."
