New Day, New Way
It's time to reset my thinking, as I'm going through an interesting time in my life right now. About a year and a half ago, my job was eliminated, and I found myself out of work for the first time in my career. I was only 53 and felt as though I had much to offer in the working world. Now, over a year later, I have not been able to secure a full-time position. Fortunately, my husband recently took a position that picks up some of the slack. However, my career was a big piece that defined me as an individual. I lost a piece of me and didn't know how to fill that void. I began to fill it with self-pity, which led to a very unhealthy lifestyle. Last weekend I had a bit of a meltdown. I realized that I had to break the funk and figure out who the new me was meant to be. Time to return to the Spark family! I blew the dust off of the cover of "The Spark", which I purchased years ago, and am reading it again. I have new goals to set. I need to realize my ultimate purpose. I know that to really be all that I can be, I must feel good about me....every day. One of my first goals is to accept who I am each and every day and push to be my best me. I will set long-term goals, but I cannot only live for who I will become a year from now. Each new day I must find a new way to be the best me that I can be. How do you work to become the best version of yourself every day?
