Recipe of the week
Hemp seed oatmeal with blueberries
Sure, a bowl of plain oatmeal isn't going to get anyone out of bed. But toss on some nuts, seeds, and berries and with almost no effort at all, you have a highly nutritious meal full of different textures and flavors.
You see, oatmeal is one of the healthiest foods for your heart, and if you have high cholesterol, your doctor may suggest eating oatmeal for breakfast. That's because oats are packed with beta glucan, a type of soluble fiber that, among other benefits, cuts down on the amount of cholesterol absorbed by your digestive tract.
Oatmeal has so many benefits that Healthline's resident registered dietitian, Lisa Valente, created this simple recipe with hemp seeds and blueberries to give us all inspo for how to eat our oats. Enjoy!

Hemp seeds — sometimes called hemp hearts — may not be at the top of your grocery list, but they should be! An excellent plant-based protein source and a good source of the omega-3 fatty acid ALA, hemp seeds are up there with chia seeds and flaxseed in terms of sheer nutrient density.
Nope, hemp seeds won't get you high!
Although they come from the Cannabis sativa plant, eating hemp seeds won't make your eyes red or give you the munchies. They contain only trace amounts of CBD and THC, the latter being the compound in cannabis that gets you high.

What we're using
As a pour-over gal, I found this stainless steel electric kettle to be a useful and joyful addition to my kitchen routine. My favorite feature is the gooseneck spout, which helps me pour my morning coffee with surgical precision. The kettle also has multiple temperature settings — great for anyone who likes to nerd out over making the perfect brew.
