Why Blog?
As I talk about my weight loss journey with others, the one thing that I keep coming back to is interpersonal relationships. When I simply track calories I do okay, When I track calories and interact with other people I do better. When I meet with people in person, and can workout or hang out with people I do even better. Here in the online world of SparkPeople, we can use the tools and the resources, but without interactions with each other we are not taking advantage of the strongest part of the support system. Status updates and mobile chats are great for seeing a small part of who someone is, but blogging gives us the opportunity to put ourselves on the line, to share parts of who we are, what we struggle with, and how we reach success. Yesterday, I met with a woman that I connected with through our local city team. Right now, our personal lives are similar as well as our weight loss journeys, but I would have never known that without her blog, and mine. I try to keep my blogs positive and inspirational, but they aren't all like that. My blog history will share my heartbreak with you as well. I guess I just want to encourage you to take advantage of ALL that the SparkPeople website and app has to offer, and don't miss out on the support and friendships that blogging will bring to you!
