How Do You Get Over the Hurdles?

I've been on this journey to better health for 2 months now. You know how it goes... In the beginning, you're brimming with excitement, enthusiasm, hope and promise. You make a solemn oath to yourself that you're gonna do it this time! Nothing is going to stop you. You will valiantly overcome any obstacle, persevere through the roughest terrain, courageously pick yourself up when you fall, and triumph at the END -- the day when you see that magic number illuminate on the bathroom scale -- the number that you've been pining over for weeks, months, or even years.

But there's only one problem. I've got a long way to go in the tunnel before I see the colorful rainbow at the end.

Over the past week or so, I've come down with a bad case of "dieter's block." Since I started May 5th, I've lost 24 pounds but I still have at least 50 to go! It's depressing and I feel like I've lost my mojo. I haven't fallen off the wagon with my diet and exercise. I haven't gone on a binge or a late night donut spree. I'm still on track with everything, but I just haven't felt very motivated lately. I still feel like a giant marshmallow.

I know that I didn't gain all of this weight overnight and I'm not going to lose it all overnight. I know that it's a process. Change takes time. My knowledge and my feelings are just disconnected right now. I'm going through a mental plateau; a brain fog that I'm having a hard time clearing.

What do you do to get yourself over those mental hurdles?
