In a nutshell
Happy Monday, friends! ICYMI: TikTok has been *obsessed* with "girl dinners" lately. I love a good foodie trend that requires minimal effort, but after browsing through the hashtag, it looks like the majority of videos feature plates that look super nutrient deficient. This got me thinking …
Is the "girl dinner" trend healthy or harmful? We tapped our resident dietitian Lisa Valente, MS, for her take, which we share below.
After that, we're talking about:
CBD gummies in a variety of delicious flavors

Our dietitian's take on the TikTok "girl dinner" trend
What's up with "girl dinners"? With over 500 million views on TikTok, "girl dinners" are a new trend where people share videos of their low maintenance meals. It's basically a snack plate that's meant to be a full meal.

So, what's the issue? Some plates are snack charcuterie boards that seem to lack proper nutrients and look a lot like disordered eating.

Our resident dietitian Lisa Valente, MS, has found a couple of other downsides:
  • The name. Anyone can eat like this!
  • Inconsistency. "What I'm seeing ranges from really small meals to more substantial dinners."
What a balanced plate really looks like. Hint: It doesn't solely consist of chips, plain pasta, and pickles. (Sorry!)

Valente's pro tip: "You want to make sure you're getting enough food in and combining a variety of foods to get different nutrients in — carbs, fat, protein — and some produce."

Watch Healthline's Instagram reel to see her version of a healthy, well-balanced "girl dinner." "I love showing people that dinner or lunch doesn't have to involve a lot of cooking or look a certain way," she explains. "You can just assemble foods and have something easy but still satisfying."

Tell us: What do you think of this trend? Are you a "girl dinner" fan or hater? Email wellnesswire@healthline.com to share your thoughts. (Please note that we may use your name and response in an upcoming edition!)

Cannabidiol (CBD) is hyped up to offer a range of health benefits, like anxiety relief and better sleep, without the high that comes with THC. While CBD comes in many different forms, gummies are one of the tastiest options. Soul's CBD gummies, in particular, come in a bunch of delicious flavors, like Strawberry, Pineapple Mango, Orange Cream, and even Seriously Sour.
Depending on the strength you choose, each gummy contains 10 or 25 milligrams of organically grown CBD isolate and may help promote better well-being, especially when you're on the go and don't want to worry about carrying around oil tinctures. Soul CBD and their yummy gummies are approved by our vetting team, too!

Health Hype Answer
What's the healthiest type of water to drink?
It doesn't matter!
Spring, alkaline, sparkling, flavored –– it doesn't quite matter what type of water you drink. Drinking any form of H2O can keep you healthy and hydrated. If you're worried about tap water, a home filter can help put you at ease or help clean it up even more.

How much water should you drink per day? That's another story. Read our article to find out.
