It's not just what you eat: When matters, too.

This Week's Tip

It's not just what you eat: When matters, too.
When it comes to controlling your blood sugar, you need to consider more than just carbohydrates. When you eat each day and which foods you eat along with your carbohydrates also affect your levels. One key for diabetes management is spacing your meals strategically. Evenly spacing out your meals and snacks throughout the day will help keep your blood sugar levels stable.

In general, people with diabetes should wait at least 2 hours (but no more than 5 hours) between meals and snacks during the day. Eating at regular intervals will help to prevent your blood sugar level from elevating too high or dropping too low. So when thinking about WHAT to eat next, don't forget to consider WHEN to eat. This simple strategy can help you avoid complications and feel your best throughout the day.
