The #1 source of sneaky calories and carbs 400: That's the average number of calories the average American drinks on a daily basis, according to a recent study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, which showed that around 37 percent of our total daily liquid calories come from sugar-sweetened drinks. Juice, soda, coffee, flavored waters (including those enriched with vitamins), and smoothies are just a few of the common sources.
Many of these drinks are disguised as good for you, and when people think something is healthy, they tend to assume it's low in calories, tooeven when that's far from the truth.
