Think you're too heavy to exercise?
You're always being told that losing weight and exercising are important for diabetes management. But what if you're too overweight to exercise? Is that possible—or is it just another excuse? Good question. You're not alone in feeling afraid, uncertain, or just plain uncomfortable about starting an exercise plan when you're overweight or obese.

That's why we asked Coach Dean—a former SparkPeople member turned expert who lost more than 150 pounds himself—to talk about the real and perceived challenges you will face when starting an exercise program. Without sugarcoating his message, Dean's common-sense advice could be just the ticket you need to start putting one foot in front of the other and gradually building from there.
